Profiling Service
Printing and the profiling service are my side business. I currently have a full time job in the educational "industry". This printing is an extension of my artistic outlet of photography, and as such I treat it very seriously. Every image that I print will be viewed and soft proofed to see if there are any problems. I often change or edit my printer profiles to make sure that your print is the best that I can produce. And all this comes to you without some over priced setup fee, in fact there is only one setup fee, and that is only applied to special non stocked papers. The reason for this is the time and expense to set my RIP up, and make printer profiles for that particular paper.
I currently still print with an "old" Epson 9500. To stay competitive I rely on a good RIP and good third party pigment inks. These allow me larger gamut, and better dot size than a stock 9500. Keep in mind that most other print shops will run their newer Epson printers at a low 720 dpi setting and fastest bi-directional speed to push as many jobs through as is possible in a work day. Since I don't rely on this type of work for my only income, I can afford to take my time and use the highest resolution and slowest multipass speed that my printer can produce. If this venture makes me enough profit, I'll certainly upgrade my printer to the newest machine that best fits my needs.
